  • @musicolorltd Glad we got that cleared up! :) Good luck with it if your grab one up.

  • @TheGospelGuitarist Perfect answer thank you :-)

  • @musicolorltd That is correct. The software version is only refering to the ROM chipset. If the seller is saying it has been upgraded to an Artist, you should ask to make sure then seller understands that the 2nd processing chip has to have also been installed as well. The original Artist came with these upgrades from the factory when sold.

  • @TheGospelGuitarist Sorry for the misunderstanding. I understand that part of it but just because it boots and says it has the 3.0 version that doesnt mean that it has the second vsli chip, correct? Since from my understanding the two mods can be done independently.

  • @musicolorltd I'm not the designer of the hardware but the ROM chips are marked and report the version on the boot screen. If you don't trust that, open it up.

  • @TheGospelGuitarist Is it the rom chip that controls the display or is it the second vsli chip that does this. It seems like the rom chip would change the display but the second vsli chip would have to be checked for manually. Is this true?

    Thanks

  • @musicolorltd It is the chip which controls the display so if it says Ver.3.0 when it boot on, then it is, yes. You don't need to open the lid.

  • @TheGospelGuitarist Thanks for the prompt reply. It will say artist 3.0 on the boot screen if its been upgraded? Will the extra chip have to be checked for by opening up the lid?

    Thanks again
