Ik denk het is prachtig! Natuurlijk er is een verschil met filologie, maar Mr Asma speelde met veel hart en het is prachtig, de "rust" ook. Hoeveele musicussen hebben zo prachtig gespeeld, 30 jaar al?? De muziek van Bach is nooit een wedloop voor "virtuoso" mensen, denk ik ;-). Groeten uit Italie!

He does use a tremulant.
The stop used is a Sesquialter, consisting of a 1 3/5' and a 2 2/3', together with an 8' flue stop.

The solo voice is a "Cornet de Sesquialter" combined with a regular 8'. Just a gorgeous stop!!!

I suspect it is not a tremolo / tremulant, but a tierce or a sesquialtera or something else with a 1+1/3 rank. This will be "out of tune", by its very nature, with the unison ranks, and so give a hint of celeste. That's what I suspect - could be totally wrong

This is just gorgeous. When people play Bach slower, I feel it is like viewing a sculpture from a different angle. The work is beautiful, but you see another facet of it.

I think the speed's just perfect. Here are the reasons to support that.
The title and the context. - "Dearest Jesus, are we here to listen to you and your word; direct our minds ....." This suggests commitment and a little meditative. It's a baptism hymn. How fast can it get? Secondly, the vast amount ornamentation in the solo line in Bach's writing suggests it'snot something fast nor rhythmical. Thirdy, in the huge cathedral, anything faster would make the details inaudible.

Lovely interpretation. And at the perfect tempo too. A very musical performance.
