  • I must say I am quite lucky as I live borderline between subtropical and temperate! Thanks for the nice video! Very educational! Thanks and Happy Gardening Marty

  • 4. @ Anglynn74: Cucumber family members don't take to being transplanted very well. It can be done, but only with great care. You would've been better off trying to move the tomato plants. It's eight months later, so I guess the situation worked out one way or another by now.

  • 1. You CAN eat the female blossoms but those are the ones that your squash will come from. If you hand-pollinize your cucumber family crops, which is easy once you learn how, you'll have more male blossoms than you need, so those are the best ones to eat.

    2. Some summer squash DO vine rather than take bushy form; most do not.

    3. To hand-pick squash bug eggs without removing the whole leaf, do as the man in the video does. Cut out just the parts where the eggs are

  • you can cook both flowers doesnot matter

  • which flower can you remove (and cook)

  • @artsandsoulful it sounds like youve got your squashes mixed up. you may have a winter squash...dont cut or prune/

  • My zucchini plant keeps sending out vines. It is not self contained like this one. It has a lot of flowers but I don't have any squash growing yet. Do you think I should prune/cut off the vines being sent off? This is the 1st time I grew zucchini

  • well done!

  • I'm growing summer squash, and see tiny yellow round eggs on the underside of all of the leaves. Some of the leaves are turning yellow. I water & fertilize it, but the poor plant seems stressed. I tried to gently clean the leaves, but it is hard to remove the eggs. I cant's remove the leaves, as the eggs are on all of them. Poor plant would not have any leaves left. Anyone have any tips? Thx.

  • I'm growing my first garden & I have 2 squash plants just like the one in the video but they're too close to my tomato plants & starting to take over. Can I transplant the squash to another spot in my yard or would moving them somewhere else kill them? They've been there about almost a month & I haven't seen any flowers on them yet, wondering if something is wrong yet the plant itself looks healthy.
