Meet a Canadian turkey farm family and hear how they enjoy raising turkeys and living in the country.

Transcript:

(Brent) My parents bought this farm in 1975. My father farmed, both my grandfathers farmed and my uncle has farmed. It's a tradition.

(Christa) I was born and raised on a dairy farm where I grew up and I always felt that I would never marry a farmer. But here I find myself today loving it. So I see us spending a lot of years here on the farm. I enjoy raising my kids here; it's a good place for them to grow up.

(Brent) We really enjoy farming turkeys because we get to watch animals grow from very young poults into full-sized birds. And I enjoy working with my family. My girls like to help me with the little birds. Turkey farming gives us a variety of things to do and every day is different.

(Hayleigh & Emily) We like working in the barn with our Dad.

(Brent) Consumer demand for turkey has really increased over the last few years. There's a very positive feeling among farmers that demand will continue to grow. I think there's a good future in turkey farming.
