Great find here Chuck! Thanks to you and Janschro. Marty was a superlative performer with many excellent songs to his credit.

It was easy for Marty to cross from country to pop with this recording. He had the voice and style of singing to do it..

John, this song is a milestone - it's the FIRST song collaboration by Burt Bacharach & Hal David in 1957! As if that's not enough, the arranger/conductor backing Marty is RAY CONNIFF, one of the best selling recording artists of all time in his own right! Conniff's diary says this was released Sept '57. He was Columbia's leading arranger in the late '50s, creating hits for Guy Mitchell, Tony Bennett, and Johnny Mathis, among others.
The collective talent on this one recording is MINDboggling!
