    I find that Kirk's monologue opening (space: the final frontier...) brings out much more emotion in me, the way he says it is extremely badass. Picard is a great character In terms of realism and is just badass in his own way, he's like a old man badass.

    Kirk is a man,yet Picard has the wisdom to take any hostile situation & make it peaceful.I like Picard,but Kirk is legendary & there is no way that Picard could beat Kirk in a hand-to-hand fight.

    I see it like this. If there was a hostage situation, Picard would try to negotiate. Kirk on the other hand would order a sniper team to the roof and the fkers.

    1: You mean like he got his ass kicked by Klingons, back then, when they still had brains?

    2:If Kirk was in charge, when Soran was doing his crazy science, they would never even have to go back in time.

    Kirk would simply shoot Soran in the face and call it a day.

    Unlike Picard, whos plan to stop a guy, who was going to destroy "SPACE AND TIME ITSELF" was to talk to him for 2 minutes, and his plan B was sitting on his ass and waiting for something to happen.
