In January of 2006, the defensive power from the SEC, Alabama, squared off against the nation's most potent offense, Texas Tech, in the AT&T Cotton Bowl. Alabama won the game 13-10 off the leg of Kicker Jamie Christensen, who's kick just barely made it over the crossbar as time expired. I apologize for the poor quality. *I own no copyrights to the game video nor the music, "Thunderstruck" as performed by AC/DC.*

  • I love how this win was vacated........thank you NCAA

  • @RollBamaRoll43 sarcasm? lol

  • On that first Alabama Touchdown, the guy's knee was clearly on the ground at the reception. This was before Instant Replay. It should have never happened. could have changed the whole dynamic of the game.

  • @Stufrogg but honestly we can't prove that. even taking closer looks at it now, all you can see is the shadow of his leg on the ground. not enough evidence to say that it did or didn't touch the ground. therefore, even if replay was implemented, the call would stand b/c of indisputable evidence

  • @Stufrogg actually 05 was either the first or second season of instant replay i remeber because this was the same season that prothro made the catch against southern miss which was originally ruled incomplete then a touchdown and then reviewed and ruled that he was down at the one

  • @bamaman6627 that is true. nice catch on that one bamaman.

  • Great win but TT wasnt "the nation's most potent offense". 1/2 of their Big 12 foes held TT down too. You held them to 5.5 per play, 4 B12 teams did similar

    KU 4.8

    BU 5.7

    OU 5.5

UT 5.0 (over 93 plays in a blowout)

UT, USC, ASU, Oregon, ND, Ohio St, & Oregon were all better. TT was an avg year for them on O in 05 when you look past the 1aa stats

Also Tech had better ypp than any other team Bama played with 5.5 & next best is UF @ 4.8 & other than the screen, TT shut bama's O down

  • FOX should have every sport. Unless I say they should not have a particular sport.

  • @phsbears2009 really? have you looked at every camera angle? This wasn't a very good angle. but anyway, we will never know because they didn't have instant replay then. Who knows, it might have been turned over, and the whole game might have gone a different way, and Tech might have won....or they still might have lost. I was at that game as a Tech fan, and was sitting behind that goalpost. It was hard fought game by both teams. and that was a crazy kick.
