@zxtian1970 The long tail catamaran that you mention is a wharram design, is it not?
2 longtails boat linked together would be very heavy I think. Althoughit is a tempting idea.

I like your project.
I worked in the mergui archipelago 10 years ago, and met Moken people. We didn't interact much. I thought they just live and let live . It was good.
Their boat was very adapted to the way they live, great character but not very seaworthy . I guess they make up the difference by the knowing well their environment.

@zxtian1970 / Hi there, - last summer we made an expedition up the coast of Norway in a Kabang from Mergui. The experts called it the most seaworthy vessel (hull shape) of it's size. The thing is that they rigg the Kabangs up according to what type of voyage they are undertaking, and the engines ruin a lot of the magnifiscent sailing abilities. Under sail, we did an average of 7,7 knots in high seas.
