Volkswagen's social media fail

On the 3rd of January, Volkswagen asked on Facebook for advice for 2012 (http://is.gd/vwfail). More than a thousand people commented asking VW why they are lobbying against environmental laws and why their boss Martin Winterkorn refuses to meet Greenpeace.

AND ''people', before you claim greenpeace as ''hypocritical'', did any of you notice that GreenPeaceUK's latest activity was 6 days ago. Most likely, who ever sets the channel up isn't very active with the computer, nor checks his/her fucking Email at all. I doubt they saw all of these comments and said ''fuck it'' and deleted them like what VW did! All of your comments are funny to read and embarrassing at the same time!

@sunsignd VW is lobbying against key laws that will help us protect the environment. Consumers just want them to stop using their cash mountain to do the right thing.

The key issue here is that Social Media is designed to encourage conversation, and if it doesn't go your way the worst thing you can do is a) No response b) Be defensive c) Delete Comments as it will spread like wild fire.

Greenpeace put pressure on Nestle last year and it worked. Forests and animals were saved...

Greenpeace pledges NOT to take contributions from national governments or the officials elected or appointed to such. This pledge is vital to limiting the influence of political institutions on Greenpeace's charter. Implications to the contrary are, in my opinion, misguided.

@YxtremY see the thing in front of you with all the keys on it? You can type a string of letters in something called a search engine. Several search engines are available to you. Google is quite popular & tends to retrieve a wide variety of results from the internet (a series of tubes)

It should take .3 nanoseconds to get all the answers you need. Any who youtube user knows youtube doesn't permit posting links in comments. Climate change deniers are lazy by nature so you probably won't search.

a mini, a skoda, a peugeot, a nissan, an iveco, a VW golf , a winnebago, a renault, and a mercedes, plus several honda, kawasaki, and yamaha motorcycles. I HAVE OWNED.

VW are establishing THROUGH ADVERTISING that they are super green , but behind the scenes are lobbying against climate laws to boost profits. GreenPeace are superb for highlighting this to us. nuff said.
