The discovery that some biological neurons exhibit a multiplication effect in which the signals seem to multiply each other contradicts the common conception that neurons are simple summation nodes. (see "Cross-Modal Synthesis in the Midbrain Depends on Input from the Cortex" by M.T. Wallace and B.E. Stein in Journal of Neurophysiology 71(1): pages 429-433). This simulation shows how easy this effect is accomplished by an AND type neuron.
