  • When my favorite dog died in 2003, I made a cross to put on his grave and used cordage I made from nettles and branches from a japanese elm. I made it a little different than shown here, but the durability and longevity is surprising. It lasted until the end of the summer of 2009. I bet if I would have done it this way, it would still be up.

  • Great stuff, Gonna practise this over the weekend! Thanks for the upload :)

  • ray just use the animus and find out...i mean its not that hard

  • @FatMikejo That's why it's a good idea to bring a pair of work glove with you any time you are in the woods. Or practice bush craft skills without gloves so you don't have to worry about having gloves in a survival situation.

  • does the U.S. have this species of nettles ?

  • Next time I'm lost in the woods and need to make cordage, I'll think of bringing work-gloves with me. Or maybe I could just make them appear (paowf) once I know that I'm lost.

  • I've done this on his Junior Fundamental Bushcraft Course, barehanded. It's scary at first, but well worth it.

  • thanks man,this works great,makes a awesome rope.

  • can't manage to do this

  • i really hope i can find gloves in nature....

  • Duuuuude, where did you learn all this? Impressive job!
