In Tachilek there is a community near the golf course in a tourist village which has a mix of ethnic groups living in it. It is a 'show' but they are genuine Kayan who live there and come from the Demawso area. Foreigners aren't allowed in Demawso so you can't visit their own village. You won't find brass wound Kayan in any other other Burmese cities, but you can visit Mae Hong Son in Thailand where some of the Kayan refugees live. Again, these villages were set up as businesses.
