Could not resist, it was such a perfect day to get out and do anything! Nice way to get connected with Mother Earth, and Fred's wife had a warm wash basin ready for me to wash the grime from my feet afterwards. Again, the idea behind running barefoot, especially on surfaces as such is to always know where your feet are going to land, and just how hard you come down upon them. The glass I was making mention of is shattered automobile tempered safety glass, which really does not hurt to step upon, unless you were to grind your feet as you land. Yes there is always a chance of stepping upon something bad, I accept the risk, this is a little extreme running upon this sort of terrain. Lots of old stuff and things for my regular viewers to see, who like old cars and parts and the like.

  • thanks spike for the vid it was great to se the cars and trucks in there=) 5/5*

  • You are very welcome, thanks for the kind words, I will try and run around and get more cars and trucks to show!

  • The Barefoot punk is at it again! The 77 GMC is a beaut Howie, not too many of those old motorhomes around! The Buick as well, Fred sure knows how to take care of his classics! What was that red hatchback with the tarp over it, almost looked like an 80s Dodge Daytona. Please tell me that wasn't an 80s Burb sitting in the bushes at 5:28. Those early 70s pick ups are so beautiful. Fred sure has a lot of gems laying around Howie

  • Wait until you see the Barefoot Punk (hopefully) doing something else wild this weekend. Unfortunately a lot of the old motor homes have gone to seed, this one survives, 400 small-block and all! The Buick is a sweet car to drive, it is ALL 1955, only giving into radial tires last year! Fred does take care of the cars indeed! The red car is a Honda CRX. That is a GMC pickup in the bushes, no 'burbs around in irony. Many '70's p'cups, more in the barn. More barefoot tours of the gems to come Al!

  • Ah, a CRX was my second guess...but I couldn't imagine Fred having a Honda on the farm. I will be keeping an eye out for more tours!

  • It is an OLD Honda at least! In the other barn, Fred has a 1986 or so Honda Civic 2-door in amazing shape, I will do a feature on this and the '60 Cadillacs and other stuff in that barn within a couple of weeks. Just wait. Catch this barefoot punk if you can!

  • that will be great=)

  • Thanks very much! I do enjoy the freedom of doing this, and will wear the thinnest soled shoes I can when I do have to wear shoes. Barefoot running has taught me balance, helped my core strength, and made me a lot more aware of what is around me,especially underfoot, and where I am placing my feet.I love balancing and walking on narrow things too such as fence rails, you really have to concentrate doing this. There was a variety of surfaces here, it was good to show, and leaves/snow add to the fun.

  • Excelent video Howie. You enjoy your barefooting as much as anyone I've met. The point you make about watching where your stepping is very important and seldom considered by those busy bodies who insist you wear shoes. When you watch your step and know the surroundings barefooting is great. Leaves and snow can cover hidden stuff but they can add a new texture to familar places. The variety you have at that location is like a smorgasboard for the soles. glad you posted it.

  • Yeah, the one I just put back together. Motor was tired but running, and SMOKING!
