Hello,
Nana McLean is the singer who had a hit with this song in 1980. It was a great version!!! I wish someone would post it on YouTube! I look for it every once in awhile, to no avail!
Kind Regards!

I did not know Mary Saxton was the original singer or that she was from Edmonton. The version I remember was a bit different but that could just be in the mix that was played on the radio. I have been looking for this song for years. My boyfriend in 1979 used to ask me to sing this song to him; he loved it. Thanks for letting me know. I would love to get a copy of this song. Obviously not a real well known song as I haven't been able to find it anywhere until now. Thanks for posting it.

I know the video is nothing to look at.... I uploaded for the song. It was a local hit when I was a teenager, and the singer is from my hometown. I've just always loved it, but don't expect that everyone will.
I wasn't offended though.
Glad you like some of my other videos. My taste is varied. :)))

Sorry - I didn't want ti insult you. I was just listenn to that song because I found on my subscription list. Maybe I didn't get the meaning of the song, because I didn't understand all the lyrics by listening only. (Sorry, my english is far away from perfect.
However, you've uploaded many good songs (Dalbello, Shirley Bassey for example)
People like you, loving so many different styles of music, cannot be bad people.
Regards from Switzerland

I just love the song. Sorry you don't like it..... listen to to others you do like.

Sorry - but the static "video" makes the song sound boring! I love song created or sung by women, but I don't comprehend why this song should be special! Can you explain?
Thanks for that. I will continue to look for the original. Glad to see there are others who liked this song. I'll let you know if I can track it down.

This song came out in the 70s I think. Does anyone know the original singer? I don't believe it was this woman......

Mary Saxton was the original singer of this song. You're right, it was released in the late 70's. Mary Saxton is from Edmonton Alberta. I'll dig out my LP and see if I can find any more info about the song. :D
