Japan Tech Special on BBC World News (September 2008)

The country is rapidly ageing and care facilities are suffering from an acute labour shortage. And the situation is only getting worse. By 2050, the portion of people aged 65 or over is forecast to soar to 36 percent. It is a serious threat to the world's second largest economy. But the tech savvy society is preparing for its grey future in a very unique way.
