  • @esalazar008 If you are doing this correctly, you should not be moving very far forward. Because right when the front foot hits, there should be no more forward movement. The lower body actually drives into the ball against a stiff front leg. But what about the nasty off-speed pitch?If you're fooled and have some forward movement, good players are actually able to stay on plane longer compared to a pure rotational hitter. Yes, when you move forward some power is lost, that's why players bulk up.

  • Now what happens when you take that approach on a nasty split finger? You are actually committed to moving forward, and losing power. The hands around the ball, is actually a different issue. Sounds like a shoulder issue. But, i'd like to see those swings in a live situation, Thanks.
