Looking for a better way of life? How about a place with more Fortune 500 companies than the US, China or Japan, not to mention world class health care that costs about half of what we pay? Thom explains why EU Democratic Socialism is beating US capitalism. And during the 2008 presidential Barack Obama drew record crowds of young voters to the polls. But it seems his well of popularity has hit a dry patch. Could MTV be the key to saving the president? Plus enthusiasm may be low among young voters this election, but there's one issue that could send turnout to new highs. Legalizing Marijuana! Thom explains how it could stimulate new enthusiasm this election season.

  • Social-Democracies have it better than US. People who get taken care of, care more about working than people who work just to stay afloat. I found it rather novel that Harry Truman influenced Germany and Japan with progressive ideas, look how well they are better off than US nowadays - in almost every conceivable way. This show spills the beans on everything on what the GOP doesn't want you to know. US capitalism is losing...recession after recession proves this.

  • Love your radio show, Thom, and I'm sure I'll love your TV show!

  • Sorry to be Mr. Politically correct, but social democracy is much different than democratic socialism, though the terms are commonly confused. Social democracy is the creation of a semi-socialist and semi-capitalist state, it's kind of like watered down socialism. Democratic socialism is socialism that is democratically controlled by the people. I've been to Spain and social democracy works, but capitalist exploitation was still very prominent through out the country. Also the welfare program

  • @Djmemez I agree that EU-type democratic socialism is winning out over capitalism. Another thing to consider is that people are generally better off, in health and well-being, in countries with the highest taxes. The happiest people in the world are generally regarded to be the people of Denmark and they pay between 50% and 70% in taxes.

  • when ever he attempts to tackle the eco nazi thing, there is a lot of speculation and bad science. if it is not questioned and re-examined. it is a belief, not science anymore.

  • thom does not realize that his view on ecology is flawed.

  • @novazee I wonder how the Germans beat the Chinese in exports ???

  • Only 410 views. Very sad how Americans are consumed by Corporate media.
