It'd be really cool if people could buy a portable sprinkler system to set up over the tree just in case. Or maybe they should mandate that Christmas tree lights only be made from fiber optics. Even better, make it a battery powered system instead of needing to be plugged in.

Luckily fresh trees don't burn that fast. So keep it watered and get rid of it, if it's getting dry. And as always, keep your documents in reach and know your exits. Merry X-Mas!

IT'S REGENERATING
"However, it is, of course, staged in a controlled environment"
I was the cinematographer that filmed this fire. Yes it was staged, but staged to be physically realistic. No accelerants or extra inflammable materials were used it was a freestanding building.
The tree was slightly dry, similar to a tree that was not regularly watered.
The spark that set it off would be similar to an electrical fault. Look at the sofa & tv that ignites through radiant heat, no direct flame contact needed
