COVER - I am what I am ( La Cage aux Folles )

Here's a song that means a lot to me. My job in here was to give emotion to the melody and the lyrics... tough work, I can tell you! lol. Especially since I am a huge Barrowman fan and that I think I just CAN'T beat him, lol. I didn't even try, it didn't even crossed my mind actually... There can't be any competition with this song... it's so beautiful *o* I guess everyone interprets it or recieves it differently. And I love John Barrowman so much, really. So now, all I wanted was to do it my own way... something I find really hard to do, making a song sound "yours". The easy part was I think the fact that I don't have the same timbre as him at all (though I actually do have the exact same range) and... that I am no John Barrowman, anyway! ^^

I dedicate this song to a friend of mine, Marielle, because she admires John Barrowman (nearly) as much as I do, and because she's the one who's offered me the "I Am What I Am" t-shirt! :) Thank you Marielle!

I loved it! I'm wanting to do this song for my final in my group voice class and I'm having a hard time finding the music (not the sheet music) for it that matched the version John did. Hello! guess what, I do love your performance. The fact that I to am a big big big fan of the song hopefully we can sing together. You were awesome, but heres something that I wish you would take into considerations: Give it a little more attitude, when you are on stage singing that song you must deliver that song all throughout so make presence and more more conviction. You just have to believe in yourself and you need to pull out what you really are with that song. You said, you cant level yourself with Barrowmans singing. Well, actually you can. Try researching about his life you'll know that the way he sings is not just TO SING the song but actually to TELL THE STORY of the song itself. OWN THE SONG. and soon you'll surely be amaze.
