Aguado used techniques we use today that many of his contemporaries did not, i.e., nails, tripodium/stand, and he wrote a fine methodology that is eloquent and demanding.

I truly appreciate the music of Aguado, scant as it may be as compared to, his contemporary, Sor. Aguado's music moves me more so, it's has more flare, and requires a greater virtuosic ability. Not, to say that Sor wasn't a great composer and his output was far-far-greater but, on the whole I find that Aguado was a more intuitive composer, teacher, and inventor.
