Race 2 of the 2010 MR2 Super GT Series at Anglesey. Three GT250 class MR2's line up to do battle on a drying track. first blood went to Anthony Day in a 2.2ltr mk2 turbo, can the 3.5ltr V6 Roadster level the score or will the lighter 2.0ltr mk2 turbo win the day?

  • What a great video! I'm still debating whether I should go 4cyl turbo or v6 in my aw11..

  • @LeviathanGuero Either would be awsome in a mk1!

  • The class A cars are running up to 250whp (the class limit). Therefore a car and driver weighing 1200kg would be spot on at 300bhp measured at the wheels. Get you car race prepared and join us on circuit, it's a lot of fun.

  • @MR2route66 Hey mate does the V6 Spyder have weight penatlies for it to weigh 1200kg? Very intense dogfight between 2nd and 3rd!

  • @MidMounted The series is governed by a Performance Index which is essentially a power to weight ratio. All the leading cars in the series are making approx 250bhp per tonne at the wheels which is the max for the class.

  • was this the first race of 2010? id love to see that turbo on dry

  • @mckenziecz It was the second race meeting of the series, however my car wasn't fully ready for the first race at Snetterton back in March. The next race will be at Brands Hatch in two weeks and I'm also hoping for a dry day.

  • 2:23 ...nice drift ;)

  • Can Someone please tell me where do I find those flairs on that Red Spyder, and Who makes that rear wing.

  • NSX eat ur heart out the noise out of the 2GR is awesome and very underrated almost as exhillerating as ferrari V8s. Roadster seems suited to that power delivery nicely but cant write the MK2 off as the mountain of torque at 4000 rpm would send anything sideways in the wet.

  • @MR2route66 I'm looking to go 3vz-fe, rods, pistons, MS ECU, mid-high RPM turbo, and a lot of downforce. The more I learn, the more I like the MR-S. I may trade my 09 WRX for one and do the V6 swap to get some experience before I completele the AW11. Keep up the good videos!

  • Interesting, looks like a lot of good times. Can't reall say it's the same as the authentic silluet based Super GT vehicles in Japan. But deffinitly cool machines.

    ^_^ Keep it up.
