Civilizations learn from each other all the time. It is not piracy, it's exchange of ideas. 500 years ago, there was a Chinese scientist named Wan Hu (search wikipedia) who thought about going to the moon using multiple rockets. He died when his rocket-strapped "space-chair" exploded. At the time, the westerners were climbing trees, they had not heard of rockets. But then China entered an era of stagnation. Today, Chinese finally wake up and is up in the orbit. They will do more soon, wait&see.

I am excited for the people of China. They have the courage to do this with an eye on going to the moon and mars. The USA program is "space zombie". We say we can't afford space exploration back to the moon and mars yet in the years since Apollo 15, that money has not made a dent in poverty or anything else but increased welfare. Mankind is never better than when reaching for some goal beyond politics and hate. As humans, we'll have to see exploration through China. USA is too brain dead.
