Oh the violence !!! LOL

"Who's the guy that won your heart? It's barnacle bill the sailor" = "who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob squarepants?"

actually, in a lot of the old ones, i didn't think she fawned over every guy. in fact, i saw very few episodes (like this one) where she did. in most of the old episodes, if a guy tried to hit on her (mostly Bluto) she punches him and declines.

Barnacle Bill is a folk song that goes back to the 19th century.

For all those wondering. This is probably an actual song from the era, so popeye just used it. Bluto was used simply because they already established him as the villain.

Those popeye shows are awsome I liked the first episode

The black and white popeye voice is the best

made back in an era when cartoons were well drawn and funny without being offensive. the hanna-barberra team gave us the poorly drawn stuff like the flintstones and yogi bear. they learned nothing from their years doing tom and jerry cartoons; which were well drawn and intelligen. just make them as cheaply as possible and mindless.

Olive was such a floozy.

@Numbuh214 maybe Bluto has multiple personality disorder, or maybe he has an identicle twin brother.
