@MusicLover1701 Your assertion that musical appreciation is subjective is erroneous.When sufficient numbers agree that one version is superior then that version is objectively,not subjectively,better.Musical ability is supremely democratic.If you think that Arthur Mullard and Hylda Baker's version of 'You're the one that I want' is better than John Travolta and Olivia Newton John's then you are ,objectively,wrong.Besides ,I would like to do Sally Carr and that is really what counts. ,

There are no certanties when it comes to life and music is no exception. Since we are creatures of habit, we favor versions that we heard first and one is correct in saying you can't reproduce an original, no one can. Hence, any version that is not original will be percieved as substandard because it is not the one we are comfortable with hearing. It's all subjective and inferior and superior are relative terms that vary with the listner but that is the nature of the arts.
