[Hola! My name is Diana Haylee Cervantes. Never heard of me, right? It's okay, I'm not expecting you to. That's not my real name. I'm actually someone you know, but you don't know you know. Yeah, very confusing, I know. Anyways, right now I'm getting up to go to school. Tonight is our school talent show. i'm in it every year. I LOVE to sing. I've won first place the last three years. This is my senior year, so this is the last time that I'm going to be able to be in it. There's talent ages coming tonight, not that I really need one, but I want to make it into the business using my fake name, not who I really am. The only time I see my real family is when my twin sister can't make it to something and they need me to cover for her.Sad, isn't it? That's alright with me though. i don't feel comfortable being around them. Anywayas, let me skip ahead to school. Nothing important happens in the morning. Just the usual, you know? Shower, put on my mask, get ready, eat breakfast with my adoptive mom, take a taxi to school, and meet up with my best friend, Aimee. Aimee and I were at our lockers talking.]
A- So what's up for today Dee?
D- The talent show is tonight!
A- Oh yeah, excited?
D- Always!
A- So is your family coming tonight? [Oh yeah, she knows my secret, she's the only one. She's been my best friend since second grade. I trust her.]
D- I told them not to.
A- Why?
D- I live this life everyday to get away from them, so what's the point of them being here?
A- To support you silly!
D- All the support I need is from you and my other friends. I don't need them Aims/
A- Whatever you say Dee, but remember, I know you better than that.
D- Yeah, okay. I'll see you later hun, I can't be late again. [She laughed and hugged me.]
A- See you later, boo.
D- Bye boo. [I walked to my first period class wondering what my life would be like if I decided to live my real life. I often do that when I'm alone. I felt someone rest their arm accros my shoulder. I looked up and saw my ex-boyfriend, Chris. I smiled up at him and he kised my cheek. We broke up a few months ago after a year and eight months of being together, but we are still really close. He walks me to class a lot. He doesn't know my secret though. I know after all that time I should of told him, but I don't want him to be with me because of who I am.]
C- Hey Die.
D- Hey hun.
C- Excited for tonight?
D- Definately! You're coming right?
C- Wouldn't miss it for the world. Just remember me when you become a big star someday. [I giggled. If only he knew...]
D- I would never.
C- Alright, well let's get to English.
D- Do we have to?
C- You want to cut?!
D- Well, I don't want to go to English today.
C- Alright, let's walk the other way then. [He grinned surprised. You see, I'm that good girl that never cuts and always does what she'ss suppposed to do. But something was different today. I have no idea what it is though. We spent the period out on the quad, that's where all the seniors spent their free periods. We weren't bothered at all there. The rest of the day went on, boring like always. After school we had rehearsals. Then I went home and got ready for the show. I was doing a duet this year with a friend. We were doing Run This Town by Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna. Then the finalists did another song and then the winners would do their final song. I got to the school an hour before it got started. Me and my partner, Sean, were going to practice the rap one last time, then we were going to chill with our friends. After an hour it was finally time to go on. Sean and I walked up on stage ready to do our song. We began and half way through, I saw them. My family. My real family. They were standing by the entrance where no one could see them. I froze, but Sean snapped me ack to reality and we continued. After the song we bowed and ran back stage. Aimee was already back there.]
A- They're here!
D- Yeah, I saw them. Question is, why?!
