the caravan is a workhorse. I work on them for a living and they fly six days a week with minimal problems. it is almost always avionics crap. the pt6 and the caravan are a perfect mix. thats why a outdated aircraft is still making lots of money today. Non pressurized, non retract, slow ass airplane. But a solid piece.

I love the Caravan. It's such a TRUCK!

sounds just like it does on flight simulator...cool

I know the low frame rate of the camera makes the propeller turn different directions but I can't tell if it's the pilot or the camera here.

@DifferentFur and expect to put 50 gallons of JET-A in per hour of flight. Each gallon will run ya at least $5-7 depending where you are....but its a good airplane..i fly cargo in them and we contract for 3000 lbs

@CaptainArt777 Roger that, I guess that makes sense. Thats kind of what I was getting at was the issue of profit. Pro rata share is not what I was thinking about.

I liked the guy's shoes...

@navyocs Yes you can. How? If you charge every one an equal share per hour when you take a trip, that is permissible. You can not come out ahead, in other words, you can't make money on the deal.

Love the caravan!

love this airplane :-)
Damn nice plane that is. Me likes it. Thanks for the video. Jimmy57452 got me thinking. What does planes cost? Like this Cessna here. I have no idea what planes cost. Is it 50000$ or 200000$ dollars? ...or maybe more?

@Eagle045 Uuuh... ok. =) 2mil sounds pretty high. Maybe I'll save a bit more for this one then. Thanks.

@DifferentFur it depends on your purpose for the plane. It's a simple calculation... the plane needs to make money, so you need paying customers (PAX and Cargo). That makes a CPL necessary too. If you just want that plane for leisure, you got to pay the bill.

@Eagle045 well you cant just fly passengers around in it with just a commercial pilot's license if it is yours, you would need to be working for a part 135 operator. Otherwise the airlines would be out of business if every jackamo with a CPL was taking passengers from here to there.

@navyocs that's true and it's good the way it is, but I'm just a private pilot flying cessnas and pipers for fun only... greets Eagle 45
