Cabot Trail, Cape Breton - The Long Way Round ( motorcycle BMW G650 GS )

I packed up my BMW G650 GS motorcycle on the August Long Weekend and headed for the Cabot Trail. With only 4 days to complete the round trip from Ottawa, ON to Meat Cove, Cape Breton ( the northern most tip of Nova Scotia ) it was a long hard ride. Day one I put on 1000KM making it to Muncton, NB. Day two was an easy 800KM across and up the east cost of the Cabot Trail landing in Meat Cove for the night ( http://www.meatcovecampground.ca/ ). Waking up on day three it was simply a breath taking 800KM down the west coast of the Cabot Trail and back to Muncton, NB. The final day was a backbreaking 13hours and 1000KM back to Ottawa,ON! So many stories, places seen ( as I drove by ), just a beautiful place to be.

@JamesReadythe5th The camera was mounted on my helmet. If you look closely at my shadow in certain parts you can see it... looked rather funny to those as I drove by.

Holy crap dude this is the best east coast video I have ever seen . Great editing too :-)

I rode from north bay Ontario to gaspe and back in 2011 .... I did 3100km in just over 3 days .

Cool video and very nice motorcycle. This is a good reminder of why I love Cape Breton so much. I just ordered a new F800GS last week and plan on putting a lot of miles on it in CB. If your down this way again sometime and want someone to ride with drop me line. I have a couple of GoPros as well so we could get some really cool videos of our bikes in action.

Great Video! I was there in 1999. It looks like the dirt road is in a better shape now. Going back with the whole Family this summer!!! Can't wait!

Awesome!!! I can't wait to get my bike there. I've car'd it a few times and rode my bicycle up from Cheticamp. Always love to see the Cabot Trail again.
