This is NOT a rare case. Male victim's are almost, if not more, as prevalent as female. They are usually not as severe as females are usually not as physically able and are usually not reported by males, at least in the past. I've been a cop for 13 years and we used to respond to mostly male on female. Now it's close to 50/50. Female on male is, however, rarely prosecuted due to bias by prosecutors and juries. Just thought I'd point that out.
