So My first ever Large and Rather Expensive Goldfish purchase. (When I find the money, my next will possibly be a Lavender Ryukin of Telescopic).

ANYWAY: This very exclusive beauty is one of I believe only a few (So far, that I know of) in the world and direct from China. It is about 5.5 Inches long and It cost a good chunk of money. Though she is not in the absolute best physical form/condition, it is quite a beautiful specimen and color! I've named her Ferdinand - though it was going to be Raymond -- a grotesquely misshaped version of the word "Rey Leon" -- lion king in Spanish, it kept slipping my mind and Ferdinand was replacing it so there we go. Though she is officially called a "Lemon yellow" my years of animal breeding have lead me to believe she is a type of Dilute Yellow due to the red eyes. Could be wrong, but I am not showing her so it doesn't matter. :)

For being an import from a breeder, this is one of the friendliest and most social fish I've ever purchased.

  • if you like albinos look at raingarde.us and there are albino telescopes!

  • @mikeydude319 I don't actually like albinos - this is a different mutation. I have bought from them before, however. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • hi there i love your fish :) but not being rude or anything but how much was the yellow 1 you got imported ???

  • @irishtosakin She was about 160$ actually... but sadly.. she passed away recently from a strange infection.... I was VERY VERY SAD :( she was so beautiful.... I've always had good luck saving any of my fish from illness but I don't know what happened to her. It was so sudden that I suspect it was an underlying condition. So now... sadly... there is one less Lemon Ryukin in the world :(

  • Love your goldfish~! They're like living jewels (:

I love your tank as well. How do you keep the water so clean??

  • @TechnoTina56 THANK YOU!!! Well, the secret to keeping the water clean is simply not overstocking and not changing the water too often. It's basically a small ecosystem and though they are not capable of fully functioning in captivity without EVER being cleaned, you need to be careful not to overclean because it kills the good bacteria that helps keep the tank healthy ^_^

  • you mentioned before that you've purchased goldfishes from (buygoldfishonline) i was just wondering if they are good quality? im thinking about buying 2 ranchus but im afraid they won't be TRUE ranchus, because i've gotten ripped off before buying online, where i bought a ranchu but they sent me a lionhead instead. thanks and hope to hear from you.

  • This is like the lutino mutation in birds. They are yellow with red eyes.

  • @Robomonkey5000 Moores are prone to fungual infections, and eye cloud, and often get these and Ich from petshops, etc. Make sure when you buy one that you check for any discolorations of the scales, eyes, etc. They should be a subtle black or bronze tone with no white, grey, cloudiness, etc. :) Good luck!

  • i love your black moore. for some reason everytime i get a moore it dies within a few days. can anyone help me or tell me y this happens?
