A clip from the Speedy dub of DBZ. Speedy is a Malaysian company that dubbed DBZ long before it had been licensed in English, and for a while buying these VCDs in Chinatown was the only access to an English language version of the show and movies that people could find.
Often Cantonese character names were used instead of Japanese (depending on the source language of the base copy they used), names were switched (one movie features Goku being called Wukong and Gohan being called Goku), the English was horrifically pronounced and badly slurred and the music was loud enough to obscure any lines.
And yet I still have a certain fondness for it. If anything, at least it's entertaining, in an unintentional way.
I love this dub. I was a kid of the 80s and 90s. Back then, bootleg copies dubbed as poorly as this were pretty much the only way to see anime. Probably because of that, I kind of prefer it this way still. There's just something about the delivery of a voice actor who is probably speaking English phonetically that is charming in a way that proper dubbing is not.

I like this dub clip. It's hilarious because of the Malaysian voice actors.
