  • The beginning of the song at 0:29 sounds like a nuclear alarm.

Interestingly enough, this is the mission where the Dark Project plot finally kicks off.

    Nice little allegory.

  • The bending synth at the start of the song just sounds terrifying..

    Also, Viktoria's face...

  • I like the little poems before the actual intro of the mission starts.

  • I took the time once to map out this level on paper. Whew, was that a challenge! The ground floor is OK, the 1st floor was a little tricky, but Damn...the 3rd and 4th floors are just nuts! It doesn't help that all the corridors become sloped and so mix between the two floors randomly and even come out in the ceilings of the bottom two...

    Fantastic, fantastic level.

  • @QuartBernstein man i thought i was the only person looking for that sample! if you search in youtube "original thief 3 trailer" the same sample is used again but without all the speech blocking it, that's the best i've been able to find lol

  • Is there another song that uses the loop of the song in the middle of this video. The loop in the 2/4. Could anyone find the title?

  • @risbolla Actually the target demographic prefers ease of access over photorealistic graphics, playing games on technologically outdated platforms, but yeah, besides that it's about fast-paced combat

  • @FractalBolt

The reason why games like these aren't frequently made anymore is simple; they cost more to develop and bring in less. Quality is a factor in the commercial value of a product, but by no means the same. The good demographic (the one which brings in the dough) wants visceral combat and photorealistic graphics, not complex and non-linear gameplay.

  • I love the Thief games. For some reason, games like these are no longer made. Right now I am playing Fallout 3, which is the only game in recent history that fills the bill
