Excerpts were taken from Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space. More specifically, from the chapter titled Wanderers. I edited together the audio from the audio-book, and added the video from:

- Carl Sagan's Cosmos
- BBC's Wonders of the Solar System with Brian Cox
- BBC's Walking with Cavemen
- Discovery's Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking
- Discovery's Super Structures
- History's Failure is not an Option
- Schindler's List (film)
- Select pictures from Boston.com's The Big Picture

The music is derived from three songs on the Lost soundtrack: Hollywood and Vines, Locke'd Out Again, and Oceanic 815.

  • 0:32 so they hired the Geico guys..

  • Sagan speaks in poetry

  • 3:37 Take that old gods! Go humans!! :-)

  • This vid went viral on Rabat

  • Best video in the series in my opinion, everyone should see this

    that last part was incredible

  • "Why should we spend money up there when we have all these problems down here on Earth?"

If you wait until all the problems on Earth are solved, then space exploration will practically never happen. And we'll miss out on all those cosmic discoveries that could have made life better for everyone on Earth.

  • @jackiedegracia attacking someone is fine as long as it doesn't end in violence , If we weren't divided and we were all the same how mondane and boring life would be . I love argument and discussion but there are those who are not articulate enough to argue their side so they use violence is a resort.

  • Carl speaks the poetry of nature like no one else.

  • 3:20 okay, I was tearful from this moment on....such a long heritage of struggle and we keep going, regardless of the naysayers. We continue to honour the wherewithall of those first primitive humans that left the caves and trees for the risks and rewards of the unknown.
