@centuryvrproductions so basically you got the current encryption key which was on the board. They changed it and you got left out of course. So really you didnt do anything other than use their own board.

Um, the radio does the encryption, not the repeater. You didn't figure out the secret to listening to encrypted comms, they are still encrypted.

it doesnt stop decrypting..i read somewhere that some MPD cops dont have the encryption enabled. most of them do though

Yes, When they chanced the code, the scanner does not support the chip so it does not have logic to change it like a radio that supports Encryption has. I could get it to work but its pointless as it was just an experiment.

The encryption comes from radio to radio through the repeater... If i bought a p25 radio, i could use their repeaters.. also yes there full encryption. It is realllllyyyy Rare to hear even one officer using unencrypted by accident. Encryptions sucks(for listeners)

I got a radio with the encryption module and fitted it into the scanner to see if it worked. it did for a while but when they changed their code again it would not change so... plus it was not my module. it came from my friends XTS 5000
