@WolverineHistorian Oh, so THAT'S how he got players like QBs Jack Trudeau, Tony Eason, and prolific WR David Williams, all whom went on to start in the NFL. ;-D
As for the 9-0 thing, with the Big Ten going to a nine-game conference schedule starting in 2014 (Or it could start next year, I honestly don't know), maybe Hoke will get his chance to accomplish something that Bo never did. ;-d.

Why don't we ever see flying toilet paper these days at the Big House? =( Hahhaha...

@TheAntihero6212 Illinois was coached by Mike White who ran one of the dirtiest programs in Big Ten history. He had gotten caught cheating at Cal and when he got busted for cheating at Illinois (which put them on probation) he bolted for the NFL.
This was the only year Bo lost to Illinois leaving us second in the conference. There was just a 3 year period in the early 80's where all the Big Ten teams played each other. Several of Bo's teams would have gone 9-0 if given the chance.

@GoongalaGoongala Oh, and that wasn't the last time that the Bruins upset a Big Ten team with national title aspirations in the Rose Bowl. Two years later they upset Iowa, 45-28.

@GoongalaGoongala Illinois did. They went 9-0 in conference, the only time that that has ever happened, and defeated #4 Iowa, #6 Ohio State, and #8 Michigan along the way. Unfortunately, they were upset by Rick Neuheisel, Karl Dorrell, and UCLA 45-9 in the Rose Bowl, a loss that probably cost the Illini the national title considering what happened later that night........

Its interesting that Michigan had the number 1 defense in the Big 10, yet didn't win the conference. Who won that Big 10 in 1983?
on the last play tomczak [inexplicably] couldnt bring himself to heave it down the field and instead scrambled out of bounds on the OSU sideline.

@ggoblue Good to know. I was 3 when this game was played. No personal memories of it.
