  • FAKE. SHOPPED.

  • is anyone using native Dll files since wine is capable of it, I just want to know if it will allow more programs to run or run with less flaws. Anyone tried it?

  • dont show me your stupid DirectX test. My cellphone can do that. Show me you play game like Crysis or something popular for windows and am not talking about Quake or Unreal tournament games from way back.

    DirectX 9.c you say ?

Prove it with Unreal tournament 3 or Call of duty 4 and fallout 3, then ill switch to linux

  • Mandriva is definitely the easiest to go from winXP to linux only if you get the Powerpack edition. If you can't get your hands on that, then Ubuntu is the easiest that is completely free. I am not too excited that Ubuntu does not use RPM's, but it's still pretty good.

  • Seems you're a pretty experienced computer user, any distro should suit you well if you know how to use google, i can really recommend ubuntu, works like a charm out of the box, and a lot of the programs you want run, but aren't in the standard repos (list of supported software that updates automatically) has repos so you can set them up to autoupdate... it's really easy, so take the first step and install ubuntu as a dual boot! :>

  • same question as bocherrini, I know windows pretty well including dos prompt, registry changes and different tweaks... Im thinking of getting Mandriva or Ubuntu... Help? thx in advance... burn windows xD

  • here here!

  • Yay! Go Linux! I am slowly doing the change-over from Windows to Linux, am using Mandriva right now from a Live CD. But, what do you think is the best Linux distro for someone who has been a windows user since his first computer?

  • what are you using to run a windows program

  • Amen
