The Guitar intro is played by Tony Hicks...then Allan clarke takes over on guitar with Hicks on Rhythm guitar,

Clarke plays guitar on a number of hollies songs ("Marigold", "Hold On", "Curly billy" etc)

LCW began as a country & western style song...and got "Rockier" each take ! - terry Sylvester sang it on the 1973 Hollies USA Tour as Clarke was then out of the Band - a Ten minute extended Heavy Rock version was played Live in New Zealand in the 80's

I mean the 1982 New Zealand version , which actually exceeds 10 minutes & includes brief snatches of Johnny Kidd's "Shakin' All Over" & Cliff Richard's "Move it"....not the 1983 "Nash Reunion" version from Kings Head Park, Ohio which was on the later Live album.
