i have hope, though...i think tom welling and michael rosenbaum are talking with each other now on how to bring lex back to smallville for the final season so they can give some closure to clex and set the stage for the upcoming movie in 2012. i think the bond between tom welling and michael rosenbaum grew at the same pace that the clark/lex relationship grew. tom is now an executive producer on the show and i believe he wants michael back even if it's only for five or six episodes. clex 4ever

perhaps one day someone will explain to me why like a brother had to be added. still, no amount of tweaking the line could diminish the love that lex/mr showed to clark/tw on their final scene. michael rosenbaum and tom welling brought such dimension and depth to the relationship between lex and clark. their love is palpable. i don't understand why lex should have to pussyfoot around the fact that he loves clark because it's shown in the beginning of the superman/doomsday animated feature.

Well... he might have said it just a little differently to the way my (bad) editing makes it sound :p
And I'd advise skipping the rest of season 7. Just go straight to Arctic and fast-forward to that scene. It's really all that matters!
