Long Island Senator Carl Marcellino supports a new state law that will ban texting while driving, which has been blamed in a growing number of fatal car accidents. In 2007, five high school seniors near Rochester, NY, were killed in a car crash that police said may have been caused by a texting driver. Police said the driver had sent and received text messages within minutes of the crash. Senator Marcellino is speaking on the floor of the NYS Senate in Albany. • If the driver doesn't take it upon his/herself to stop texting, this law could very well spread across every single state and country, and it could completely be part of our future use of cell phones.

  • If it is illegal for me to get a BJ from my wife while I am driving, then texting while driving should be illegal too.

  • should be illegal, i ride a bike texting while they drive makes it dangerous for me every day i step out my door on my bike. i see idiots doing it all the time, even talkin on the cell is bad and should also be illegal in the car

  • YEA!!!! YOU ROCK!

  • I couldn't give a shit if 6000 retards die each year or even 1 milion. I feel for the innocent victims.
