its the exact same thing as walking up to a high stakes poker game and telling the players their losses will be covered, they will just be more irresponsable and take more risks because as far as they are concerned its win win for them, there already was a climate of bailouts which these companies knew they could rely on, it would have cost like 4 million jobs then, but they'll do it again and in the future it could be 10 million, some day we wont be able to afford it, what happens then?

Dont ask if its good to get of foreign oil. Ask if it would have an advantage for the most people over a long time. Try to get out if the people even WANT to realise what it means not by just asking them how they like it. Some people dont even know whats the difficulty with oil.
