This German language report from September 1997 is about Allan Rodenkam Simonsen, one of the greatest Scandinavian footballers of all time and a succesfull manager of the Faroese National Team between 1994 and 2001.

Allan Simonsen was born in Vejle, Denmark in 1952. He started his football career with his home club, Vejle BK. Allan most prominently played for German team Borussia Mönchengladbach, winning the 1975 and 1979 UEFA Cups, for FC Barcelona from Spain, winning the 1982 Cup Winners' Cup and for Charlton Athletic in England. Allan Simonsen is the only footballer to have scored in the European Cup, UEFA Cup, and Cup Winners' Cup finals, and he was named 1977 European Footballer of the Year.

For the Denmark national football team, Simonsen was capped 55 times, scoring 20 goals. He represented Denmark at the 1972 Summer Olympics, 1984 European Championship and 1986 World Cup tournaments.

This report does include some rare footage of Allan Simonsen's playing days, especially his two goals for Denmark against Brazil in 1972 Olympic games.

Also incuded are highlights of Faroes-Czechia 1998 World cup qualifying game, played in Toftir on September 6, 1997. The Czechs won 2-0 (Vladimir Smicer 16, Pavel Kuka 32 penalty).

There are short interviews with Faroese players Todi Jónsson and Jens Martin Knudsen.
