On the morning of the Jay Challenge XC race, I woke up with Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" in my head. The previous evening we were standing on the deck looking at Jay Peak from our rented house 50yds from the far end of the course. It looked so far away. Three of us ran the full course, one ran the half. Everything was all right.
