  • Are paradiddles to help learn roll control? I'm a beginner and just got my kit. I know the basic rock beat, and then can just pretty much play by ear. Just wondering if I'm not trying to play professionally, would learning rudiments be beneficial?

  • Yes! Yes! and Yes!! haha rudiments are the alphabet of drumming. it would help u so much if u know them.

  • Hey, why don't you turn the snares on?

  • by not turning on the snare you can hear the diddles more clearly in order to know your playing them right, alot drummers tend to press into the drum to get the diddle when actually they need to open thier diddles

  • ooh man..i need some lessons....'cause i need to know how to play the snare drums..

    keep uploading this stuff please!!!!

  • no prob man. how long u been playin and how old are you

  • thanks so much for this video. i am a beginner and i practice rudiments and paradiddles alllllll the time. everyday. but i don't know how to get faster. is it just practice and practice and practice or is there any trick that i don't know? (sorry, i'm german but i hope you could understand me...)

  • One of the best tutorial vids on you tube...top marks from me mate.

  • are those rockband sticks?!

  • u speed up too fast when doing the diddles, you should gradually go faster, not go slow and then straight to full paced

  • it gets me angry cause i do my parididdles and my pinkys kept coming out D:

  • Thank you :) This will really help. I actually find paradiddles quite hard, but I plan on doing a lot of practicing. Thank you for this video :)

  • I've been practicing these hardcore lately. There's a few good exercises you can use too to strengthen your left lead and right lead at the same time which is what I'm doing, it's a lot easier to perform on a set because you can lay out the accents on toms more clearly.

Try doing this when practicing too, it might help: Rlrrll Rlrrll Rlrr Lrllrr Lrllrr Lrll *Repeat*

Also, don't try to actually bounce the strokes it'll start to sound sloppy when you speed it up, actually stroke every hit.

  • thanks man.......
