  • I think its about time Kate Winslet is recognized - and not just because I'm British, lol.

The Oscars always throw curveballs though, so I'm sure there'll be some suprises.

I'm still loving your great interviews too by the way!

  • I hope so, Sweet Emotion! She's on the cover of Time Magazine out today, so she better win! It means they have inside information.....Or do they?

BTW, I want to thank you for subscribing if I haven't already!

  • I'm conflicted. Merrick Bursuk seems to know his stuff, he correctly predicted that The Reader would get a Best Picture nomination. Perhaps I should listen to him about Davis. A few weeks ago, the Oscar seemed like it was Cruz's to lose.

By the way, if Merrick thought that Milk and The Reader were better than Slumdog Millionaire, then why did he place SM at #2 on his top 10, second only to Benjamin Button?

  • That's a good question. Perhaps Merrick should answer that, except that he never watches YouTube....

  • Maybe this year for Jule and Julia....

  • I really wanted Meryl to win. She was amazing in Doubt. Meryl can't die without having received her 3rd oscar award.

  • Kate Winslet... But Meryl Streep and Angelina Jolie also deserve it really much.

Regarding the best movie, I wish it was The Reader, but it probably won't...Yes, it could be Slumdog Millionaire, maybe, but I'm not that sure anyway... What about Benjamin Button? They like those movies in Hollywood, I saw it last weekend and it reminded me a bit of Forrest Gump, which was very successful at its time...

  • Also, I don't think they liked "Doubt." No Best Picture and no Best Director nominations and no technical either, which indicates lack of support across the Academy. Actors nominate actors. Editors nominate editors, etc. but EVERYBODY gets to vote in all categories once they are officially nominated. Oh, and there's that weighted ballot issue with the Academy, too. They list their choices 1,2,3, 4, 5. And the number one votes are the only ones counted in this part of the process.

  • did u put any of your videos in your website?

  • The description that guy gives Kate Winslet's role matches Meryl Streep's one better. She beats everybody when it comes to "subtlety and internal things going on"
