I am planning a dinner for my in-laws and I want it to be great. I'm thinking of a pumkin potatoe soup appetizer with the entre being mango grilled pork chops over a bed of this rice pillaf. Maybe nectarine crepes for dessert. What do you think? --Should I use pork, chicken or beef for the stock of the rice pillaf? and should I put carrots in the pillaf or just have roasted carrots on the side? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

what is chicken bas?
lamunecatorres 3 months ago
@lamunecatorres Chicken base is a concentrated chicken broth that is used in cooking. Bouillon cubes are a form of chicken base, but has alot of salt in it. I like the chicken base that is sold at Sams Club. It has a great flavor and very little salt.
Thanks for the question

Chicken broth is diluted chicken base & water mix together. You can also make chicken broth by simmering chicken bones and vegetables. You can bake chicken and get the natural drippings that can out of the chicken during baking, this is called natural chicken broth.
Great question

WoW! A unique way to prepare a pilaf dish. It looked great when you removed the foil-plastic wrap. I will have to try that here.
One question: can you add any other vegetable to it, such as corn or peas? I'm a vegetarian. If so, when during the cooking process can I add said vegetables?

Great question !! thank you for watching. You can add many differnt fuirm vegetables that can stand up to 20 minutes in the oven. Corn & peas will work great, use frozen, not canned, maybe 12-3/4 cup of each, thawed. Stir in when you add the rice to saute. This will allow the flavor of these vegetables to spread through-out. Also you can take about 10 long raw spaghetti noodles, break them 1 inch long saute them with the onions, great nutty flavor.
