Howard needs to own up and take some of the blame for totally enabling Artie. He dropped KC from the show like 3rd period french after a few fuckups. Artie was fucking up over and over and over until he stabbed himself in the stomach. If Howard would have fired him sooner maybe he would have gotten REAL help.

Ever try to quit cigarettes and the following day after a great meal you find yourself by the window searching your pockets before it all sets in? Amplify that and that's what Artie went through for years. Although the show kept him afloat through his depressions it eventually became the factor that drowned him. For drugs, he needed the 6 months treatment at this point. The Mental Institution he also went to was needed since shrinks have no effect on him. Thank God he made it through recently.

The thing about addiction is that 99% of addicts follow the same patterns of drug use, denial and destruction so Dr. Drew doesn't need to know much about Artie's individual circumstances. Once a therapist knows that someone is an addict, the diagnosis and treatment options are basically the same.

Artie lied. Poor guy was too scared to confront the cause of his depression. I was scared of therapy too because it forces you to confront yourself and it's much easier to sedate yourself with something to avoid being self aware. I hope big Art is doing good. He needs to lose weight without coke now and stay the hell away from Howard and he's golden. He does have a nose for snorting though if you look at it. Like some people have DSLs but Artie has a CSN (coke snorting nose).

Artie was big time in denial here. I'm pretty sure he recently said that the whole shrink thing was a total lie. I'm glad that he's doing better now and wish him the best.
