Well, IMDB is made of contributions by users like you and me, so you can't take IMDB info as The Ultimate Truth. However, you don't have to check IMDB to find out how tall Yves Montand was; it's enough to look at his photos with other people. It's obvious that he wasn't short at all.

He was 6'2''. Don't spread gossip.
Marilyn Monroe was 5'5'' plus heels. Simone Signoret was even taller. Now google for some pictures of the 3 of them together.

His father was a socialist. He escaped from Italy when Mussolini and fascists became got government in Italy. Ivo Livi was a little boy and his mother used to tell him: Ivo monta^!, that's mean in italian, Ivo, come upstairs. So from italian "Ivo Monta" to frenc "Ives Montand"! .

Pendant un instant, à la fin de la chanson, il parait submergé d'émotion... une larme qu'il retient?

amazing, oh yes...
and so simple, so... true
I cant believe this song doesn't remind him of something very personnal. At the end, he is shortly waving goodbye, as if something or somebody was going out of sight, in the distance, forever...

Thx for posting^^
