Yes, it makes perfect sense. Because even if you obtain the material object or event you thought would make you happy, once it is gone, your good feelings will vanish... hence the emphasis on meditation as a means to cleanse oneself (of negative karma) and attain higher states of consciousness.

...or perhaps she means one should strive to awaken oneself first through meditation rather than spend so much time trying to obtain material things/events in an effort to make yourself feel good. Hmm?
Master Ching Hai is a good and loving teacher. She brings love and good to the world. I am not a part of her org but have read and watched her over many years and am convinced the world is a better place because of her. thank you supreme master ching hai for teaching compassion and love.

Yes, I am grateful for Master Ching Hai's compassionate teaching to her disciples. Some years ago, I interviwed her on my then radio program in Santa Barbara. I believe you have the text of the radio interview up on one of your sites. We also mentioned her on our book, Everything You Need to Know About Asian American History.I hope to visit her vegetarian restaurant in Phoenix some time soon.
