This isn't a subject that skeptics usually tackle, but maybe that should change. The War on Drugs, and the claims made in its support, is every bit as bogus as creationism and the moon landing hoax.

Part 1 of 3.

  • I'm willing to bet that most of the people who hit thumbs down on this video probably didn't even watch more than 1/3rd of it.

  • @headybrew 100 of them were a creationist vote-bot.

  • People need to get out of this "drugs" mindset. Drugs aren't stupid, you just need to be responsible. Eat too much food and your life will be ruined. Do too much drugs and the same will happen. Exercise too much and you will cripple yourself. Drive too fast and you will kill yourself. Going to the deathbed without ever experiencing drugs is like going to the deathbed without ever experiencing sex.

  • @philateliceun Perhaps, but with drugs it doesn't take anywhere near as much to go overboard than it does with other things. Still, your point is valid.

  • how would the dea know that legalizing a drug leads to negative results? i'd like to know the instances that a) a drug has been legalized, and b) well....i'll think of something after an example of a can be found.

  • @burnhippiesforfuel Well, for a), there's when alcohol prohibition was ended...oh, but wait, that REFUTES his claim, not supports it!

  • Shane you need to do a bogosity episode on keynesian economics, its destroying the country far more than the war on drugs and whats worse is it might be more accepted.

  • Two thumbs for taking on the validity of the "War on Drugs"

  • @shanedk let me notify rationally government doesn't always limit competition sorry for containing the word always

  • @shanedk Did you know that In 1937 when Marijuana Transfer Tax Act was passed it was advocated by business tycoons trying to protect their monopoly and with the invention of the decorticator, hemp became a very cheap substitute for the paper pulp that was used in the newspaper industry this clearly indicates that government is always limiting competition. But also the law was mandated to exclude African Americans to inherited wealth. • Legalise drugs.... and you can tax them!

  • @amateurevolutionist Not only do you have a much better chance of surviving any bad reaction to drugs if the drugs are legal, you have a much lower chance of having any bad reaction in the first place. Legal drugs will be made by the pharmaceutical companies, who know how to keep out contaminants (which will reduce the risk of things like unexpected allergic reactions) and produce reliable concentrations (which reduces the risk of overdoses).

  • Reduces the change for Alzheimer's, eh? When, How much, How often would I have to use it?
