Prothean Beacon: Vision

This is a message of warning against the returning threat of the Reapers.

Every 50.000 years, the machines hailing from the "Dark Space" eradicate all advanced lifeforms in the Milky Way galaxy.

Only humanity can stop this cycle of mass extinction events and the upcoming invasion.

The galaxy's only hope is Commander Shepard, the first human Spectre agent, who is in possession of the Cipher, the cultural context, knowledge and experience of the entire Prothean species.

For Mass effect 3 i really want to know how the reapers was made, more about protheans and finally see quarians face

Based on another vision you receive during a side quest, this is apparently the process of transforming Protheans into Collectors.

@rhinnawi95 Unlikely, Vigil said the cycle has continued for millions of years before them. Protheans were first to create a relay, alter Keepers' signal and therefore make a chance for next civilization to evade the Citadel trap. If Reapers were leaving evidence/information about their nature what would be point of Citadel? I don't think it is possible to learn of their origin either: "In the end, what does it matter? Your survival depends on stopping them not in understanding them"

@1vaultdweller That would make sense, but I think a different set of artefacts might be introduced into ME3, possibly Prothean, or from even previous civilizations that died in the 50,000 year extinction cycles, or even ones Protheans used from these earlier civilizations! I have a feeling we'll learn of the origin of the reapers, and so we'll probably learn of the first civilizations that created/were destroyed by them. This game will be big for that history, I think

@rhinnawi95 Seriously, I think that prothean cipher that makes Shephard unique will provide deeper knowledge of mass relays/element zero - what reapers control - by a prothean relic or sth. Its clear that the path to our salvation must be related to element zero. Although there was nothing like that on Ilos..

@moonblaster91 correct and they may have done the same to create the keepers on the citidel.

my guess is that the reaper created by the species just harvested, is left behind to activate the citidel when the time has come...

sooo... soveriegn may be the species before the protheans, because the protheans could not be turned into a reaper, and so they leave the latest one to be created, behind.

@ogthegreat the reapers are made from the genetic material of the species they are harvisting... when the harvistation goes wrong, and the species are not viable for creation of a reaper, they geneticly re-write them.

that is how the protheans turned to collectors and that may be the same reason behind the keepers on the citidel.

I hope in ME3, we get to find a secret group of Protheans who managed to survive and reproduce over the 50,000 years. That would be cool. And maybe even learn about previous civilizations from the other 50,000 year intervals before that. And what if Reapers were to an ancient race as the Geth are to Quarians (whose face I'd like to see)? That would be nuts.
