Nine out of every 10 candidate medicines that appear safe and effective during animal tests, fail when given to humans—a waste of billions of Euros, millions of animal lives, and all the while failing to effectively address pressing human health needs. Industry, animal welfare advocates, government agencies and regulators are united in acknowledging the need for new human-relevant research approaches to address this problem. Research innovation is on the horizon: Europe's new Framework Programme for research and innovation—Horizon 2020—has the potential to revolutionise our approach to health research and safety testing.

You realise 9/10 drugs fail at every stage of production. 90% fail after non-animal tests, 90% fail after animal tests. 90% fail after human tests - this is due to lack of efficacy or safety. This is a problem with the drug making process, not animal tests. Remember these drugs have already been tested through non-animal methods.

Come on Humane Society International I believe in scientists words and opinions not your spin on things! Where are your animal shelters, next to Peta's? 40 Nobel prizes in Medicine except one and you dare say this is a zera sum equation! Shame on you for betraying people that donate their monies to you. HSI has not found a single cure but has put millions into creating this add - what a waste!

As a scientist, i have always refused to work with animals. That has hampered my career, but i know it's the right way!

YOU SHOULD WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY "MAXIMUM LETHAL DOSE" AND READ THE BOOK "F&Q ABOUT THE USE OF ANIMALS IN ANIMAL SCIENCE" BEFORE SHOOTING OFF AT THE MOUTH! GO AND EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST YOU IDIOT!
